Salat

“And when thou art among them, and leadest the Prayer for them, let a party of them stand with thee and let them take their arms. And when they have performed their prostrations, let them go to your rear, and let another party, who have not yet prayed, come forward and pray with thee;”

(Holy Qur’an 4:103)

In his Friday sermon dated 20 Jan 2017, Khalifatul Masih V (aba) called upon us to focus on our Salat. Here are some points from the sermon related to congregational Salat.

"While it is given that offering Salat is obligatory on every Ahmadi, but along with that as per the Holy Prophet's (peace be upon him) instructions the congregational prayers are obligatory on every able Muslim man"

"The Jama'at organization should also keep reminding people about congregational prayers. They should convey the message of the importance of congregational prayer over and over again to each member of Jama'at"

There are two initiatives that Khalifatul Masih has asked Jamaat to take up in order to promote the culture of congregational prayers - Salat Ashara and Salat Centers

Salat Center

"Encourage members to regularly offer congregational salat in mosques/salat centers (especially if they live within 15-20 minute drive time) or at homes."

Majlis-e-Shura 2013

Following this directive, USA Jamaat started setting up Salat centers for members to get together in homes, offices and other places where they can offer congregational Salat. Since  lot of our members do not have a Masjid in a driving distance, these Salat Centers allow them to enjoy the benefits of congregational Salat on a daily basis

Know

Many of our members remain ignorant on the importance of Congregational Salat and they have also been missing these prayers due to lack of a mosque nearby. Use references from this page to educate members

Salat Ashara

"Try to hold Salat Ashra every other month, as a result there after 6 efforts in the year, there will surely be a difference in the salat attendance"

- Hazrat Khalifatul Masih V

In compliance with this instruction, USA Jama’at holds the first ten days of every even numbered month of the year. During these 10 days, special reminders to be sent to all membership and special arrangements should be done to help people attend the Masjid and/or Salat centers. During these 10 days, the Salat Centers also should be revitalized in case they are not regular.
